EVS Schloss Glarisegg 2013 in retrospective

Aaaaand..IT’S A WRAP!! 🙂

2013, Thank you for bringing me so much green and novelty!

Tic-tac, tic-tac..7 months have passed and our EVS Program ended.

In May I arrived in Schloss Glarisegg (Steckborn, Switzerland) and I started calling it “home”. At that point I had little clue about how this experience will be. All I knew was that I was one of the two participants in a European voluntary service in Swizterland and I was suppose to live in a small-small village (50 members) and to work outdoors (my dream!), in a nice garden (the other volunteer was Alessandro from Italy – my partner in crime :). Everything that followed  was an everyday nice surprise: the adventure of being part of a Community and discovering a new world, Permaculture, a totally different way of living and thinking, a new language, festivals/events in the heart of the mountains, hot summer days spent by/on the lake, learning how to grow my own food and to love nature even more with all its richness, taking my first steps into meditation, yoga sessions, adding new delicious vegetarian recipes to my personal folder, learning to communicate more and better, meeting a beautiful bunch of fascinating and inspiring people, learning that giving up my personal space for a honest bear hug can be scary at the beginning but it’s such an effective way to get a positive, loving mood in a glance..

Looking back, 2013 was  definitely a unique, wonderful year for me that had a strong impact on myself and my idea of what to do next, what/who makes me happy.

2013, Thank you for bringing me so much novelty! Looking forward to see what 2014 will bring! Happy New Year!!!

Abschiedsparty (Farewell Party)

On 24th of November we organized a Abschiedsparty (Farewell Party).

Our project was rushing to the end so we were happy to have the chance to have a nice evening with our garden team and the other community members where we could talk about our background, about  our project after living for 7 months in Schloss Glarisegg eco-village and the impact of this experience on us. It was a very cozy night with stories, nice music and surprises! Thank you all for the beautiful memories!! 🙂

Rüdiger’s Klangwerk

Rüdiger is a creative person, he sees new instrument in the wood and he has a great ability in bringing them to life.

Lichterloo – Fire Festival

Lichterloo was inspired by festivals such as Burning Man and it can be described by words like:  sustainability, responsibility, joining in and living together peacefully,  free from profit – values the world needs more than ever.

She did it!!!

Yes, she did it! Garten plan finally finished!! Bravo, G!! Now let’s hope people will find their way in our snail 😀

Romanian traditions – Pottery

Romanian National Ceramics Fair “Cucuteni 5000”,  Iasi (Copou Park), 28-30 June 2013

Wald Kinder (Forest kids)

Der Wald Kinder is definitely one of the big reasons for which I’d love to speak good German already. Such a wonderful bunch of little angels, lead by two amazing carers: Anina and Stefanie.

Harvest time!!

Today I made joyful labels to mark in the garden which veggies are ready to be harvested (green) and which are not (red). Pretty fun work! 🙂

[18] Following The Fairy Trail

The Fairy evening started with some nice soup by the fire,  happy faces, nice music, masks and joy and continued with a very inspiring documentary about Fairies.  Loved it! 🙂

[15] Creative Workshop

On Thursday evening we were invited by Ilona (the Creative Workshop’s owner) to have our Orientation Team meeting in her atelier. It was a brilliant idea. We were given everything needed for painting and then we were encouraged to start putting on paper whatever came to our minds. We started. After a few minutes Ilona asked us to stop painting and just take the place of the person in our right and to continue working on his/her painting, in the same theme started by its author. We repeated the move for 3 or 4 times. Looking back at my original painting I could see the nice “alien” touches of my colleagues that made it even more interesting. It became less predictable for me. At the end we were encouraged to pick the painting that we liked most (our own or one of another colleagues) and to put on it a final touch and that would became our own to take home at the end of the workshop. I chose Alexander’s painting – it was colorful (just like mine) and the exchange gave me a nice feeling of sharing.

I would love to have any talent on painting but the sad truth is that I don’t. At all. But I really love colors generally and since painting is essentially about colors, makes it a nice relaxation activity. It’s also nice to notice how new inspiration comes with every brush strike.
